TIME FOR PSYCHOLOGY TO BLOW YOUR MIND 1. Delusional people are just as logical as healthy people but are markedly worse at the 20 questions game. 2. Elected politicians in the U.S do 5% worse on political knowledge quizzes than the rest of the country. 3. Because of implicit egotism (the idea that you like your initials more than the rest of the alphabet) there are 182% as many Dentists registered in the US called Dennis than there would be if our major life decisions were not affected by our first names. 4. In South America, people complain to police that they can't remember the last week but their bank accounts and homes have been emptied. When police investigate, the neighbours claim to have seen the victim helping the robbers remove their possessions and the police inform them that they have been drugged with Burundunga, a substance that makes you highly suggestible and blocks the formation of new memories.

1. If you laid all your bones out end to end on a tennis court, you'd be dead ...

Ok, seriously now!

2. If you see a lightning conductor being hit by lightning, it's broken because its purpose is to dissipate the charge in the clouds with its own charge. It takes the ionised particles in the cloud and supplies them with electrons so they're complete atoms without a charge

3.The Aurora can only be seen at the Earths poles, as this is where the Earths magnetic field is the strongest. As charged particles are affected by magnetic fields, the "cosmic rays" that are made up of charged particles are directed to the poles.

4. People who are very short sighted (about -5 diopteres or less) are far more likely to suffer from retinal detachment, as there is almost always a greater pressure in the eye, meaning the lining of the eye, particularly around the peripheral of the retina is much thinner than in an "ordinary" eye

5. Thomas Edison tried incredibly hard to get New York's electric system to be run with D.C. current, rather than the A.C. current Tesla suggested, even going to the extent of killing a circus elephant with A.C. current to show how dangerous it was. In the end A.C. current won out because it has a far better range, and can be used in transformers to step up and down the p.d. America went for a 60Hz system, whereas Europe went for a 50Hz system - the higher the frequency, the better, so in this sense America has a better electric system!

1. Because of the gaps between electrons and the nuclius in atoms and the gaps between other atoms you could crush the whole of the human race down to the size of a sugar cube.

2. An egg will not break if it is dropped onto grass from around 2m high provided it lands precicely on the top of the egg.
