Why are humans the only animal that cook food?

Excluding any food that we throw away why do no other animal cook their food.

Because the other animals don't need to cook their meals. By the discovery of fire, people realised that food tasted better if you put it in the fire. Animals don't care if it's cooked or not, they just want to know about theirnext meal, cooked or not.

Animals do not need to cook their food because they are eating fresh meat. If you were to go out and kill a deer, you can eat the fresh meat straight off the deer and not have any problems, provided the deer isn't diseased (in which case the animal that would have killed and eaten it would have problems as well). However, the meat you buy from a grocery store has been handled by many people and processed and carry salmonella and other harmful bacteria that will make you sick, therefore you must cook it to the correct internal temperature to kill the bacteria. If you were to feed your pet raw meat from a grocery store, they will get sick but if you feed them fresh meat that you would eat they would be fine. Also, I think it would be hard to make a fire without opposable thumbs :)

I would agree with the mmm guy/girl

Animals never had dextrous hands to create a fire whenver they wanted. Animals possibly do enjoy the ease of eating and taste of cooked food, but they never had the ability to make fire, because they didn't have hands.

Because animals have a primal fear of fire. Cooking food releases more protein in the meat and takes less time to chew given that humans dont have the strongest jaw and the sharpest teeth among the animal kingdom.

The intake of more protein  allowed for the evoution of modern man's large brain because subsequent humans have a smaller mandible than their predecessors allowing for more space for the brain.
