Is distilled water drinkable ?

It is often mentioned that one should not drink distilled water. Why not ? If so, how much distilled water would be harmful, and what would be the health consequences ?

As long as you are sure that the distilled water is not polluted, it should be no more harmful than any other water. As long as you are eating healthily enough to ensure proper mineral intake, the minerals that you otherwise might get from water would be insignificant. As long as the water has not accumulated dust and Legionella bacteria through being improperly stored, there should be no special microbial hazard.

As I see it, that is about that!

Stay well! Drink while you are thirsty, and then stop.

Cheers,

Jon

And if you are in the desert and have nothing to eat and build a  primitive distillator to get at least some water, you can still lick your skin to get some minerals back :-)

Sure  if you  pick up a gallon at a drug store, it's fine.

People don't drink it because it tastes funny.

That's because there are no minerals in it.
