If I put a live Penguin in my home freezer, would he quite happily survive?

At temperatures that your freezer could produce, emperor penguins could do fairly well, assuming that they escape suffocation and microbial infection etc. Species of penguins that are adapted to warmer regions, such as the Galapagos might have a colder time of it.

Rather don't try this at home!

Freezers are insulated to keep them cold. This means that they are quite airtight, and the penguin would suffocate.
