Nothingness doesn't exist. There is always something. Even where you see nothing. Pay attention to these words in the question: "... if there is any place in the universe that there is absolutely nothing." How can "nothing" exist in a place that is "something"? The only concept I can think of that would allow nothingness to have a state is the concept of God. Maybe we could say to a child:

"Yes, there is a place in the universe where there is nothing. Is the place where God lives. Because only God has the magic to exist in a place that is not."
