Are blue eyes more sensitive to light than brown eyes?

I have blue eyes and I squint in the light even if it is not a particuarly bright day. I often wear sun glasses when my brown eye friends are fine without. I got to thinking, does the colour of our eyes effect how sensitive they are to light in a similar way to how pale skin is more sensitive to sun light than dark skin?

People with lighter coloured skin have less pigment melanin, therefore are more susceptible to the harmful effects of the sun. I believe that can also be applied to people with lighter coloured eyes. I also think those with lighter coloured eyes genetically have larger pupils and don't constrict as much in light, so more light shines into the eyes creating an increase in sensitivity to light.
