Why do casserole recipes state cooking temperatures that are higher than boiling point? Isn't this a waste of energy?

Hey thanks! They are nice plants, very inoffensive, unlike some aggressive and inedible water plants, and they should be excellent garden pond acquisitions, especially for those who like edible flowers!
