why do we die? Why is the average lifespan of a human being in the world today 70 yrs old? Other than fatal injuries, or illnesses, if a human being stays healthy in all aspects, other than ageing, why should that human expire?

Why do I live longer than a cat, but a cat lives longer than a bird, but a bird lives longer than an insect? Does life span actually matter to animals, and why do we all live for different periods of time? Does a beetle's life feel quicker, or what? Why has evolution made us like this?
