Why is that you can lock your car door from further away if you point the key fob to your head?

A popular UK car show demonstrated that, if you own an automatic, electronic car key, it is possible to lock and unlock your vehicle from a greater distance if you point the key to your head as you press the button. Why is this?

I've found that different cars' indicators tick at different speeds. Who determines this speed and why this speed in particular?

With the cold weather I have noticed frost forming on cars at the bottom of our driveway. There is no frost on cars at the top.

The top is no more than 5 meters higher than the bottom. How is this small difference in height able to make such a remarkable difference in the amount of frost formed?! I have noticed this phenomenon for a couple of days now and am desperate to explain it!

The picture attached shows what I am describing.

Same but different?

I have been thinking and would like to know . Are there really any advantages in running cars on electric power? Isn't it just changing one fossil fuel to another. Could someone please tell me what the advantages of electric powered cars are.

Why is it easier to scrape ice off my car when it is clean?

I have noticed that my car is easier to defrost on mornings when my car is cleaner than when it hasn't been washed for a few weeks.

Is this because I only wash my car on days with nice weather which means that it isn't quite as cold the following morning? Or could there be an explaination around ice sticking to the grease/dust etc?
