If a sufficiently powerful cosmic ray struck the air above you, would the radiation shower be enough to be lethal? I hear some cosmic rays have the energy of baseballs or even trucks on a highway. If one of those hit in the atmosphere and produced a particle shower, I presume it would not be good for living creatures underneath?
