Is it possible to swap genetic material between sperm and egg cells?

Is it theoretically possible to extract the genetic material from, say, a sperm cell, and replace it with that taken from an egg? With the intention that the sperm fertilise a second egg, creating offspring from parents of the same sex. If not - for the sake of curiosity - why not?

With on going inter-racial breading will all humans eventually be identical?

I assume this hasn't occurred yet because international travel has only recently become common.  Even if we do't all end up identical is it possible we will all be the same skinned, the same haired and the same built?

Ol' Blue Eyes

My boyfriend, a blue eyed Swede, told me that if we were to have children, he or she would be more likely to get my brown eyes rather than his blue eyes, because the brown eye gene is stronger.  Is this true? And if so, does that mean that one day there will be no more blue eyes in this world?

Why do different fruits spoil at different times? Is the time taken by a fruit to decay genetically determined?

For example, I've noticed that green apples survive much longer over strawberries and oranges, even when they are all kept chilled for the same duration of time.

loss of genetic diversity in human population

The human genoproject has demonstrated that the global population of humans can trace its roots to Africa. Given we're all linked to the same ancestory are we less genetically diverse than our African ancestors. ie over 200,000 years how much new mutation would have been added to our dna and how much would we have lost due to inbreeding in what is suspected to be small migratory groups out of africa.

How many people would it take to repopulate the human race?

It is one of those things that comes up in bad Sci-Fi and other low quality media, how many people would it take to re-populate the human race without running into problems like inbreading?

Would it be possible to genetically modify battery chickens to feel nothing at all?

To stop battery chickens from feeling any pain or claustrophobia in their short lives would it be possible for scientists to genetically modify them to have no pain receptors, touch receptors, be blind and not be able to see. I know this sounds even worse in ethical terms but would it stop the sufferance of the chickens as they would not know what would be going on and would only know how to eat and lay numerous amounts of eggs.
