I noticed one of my head hairs looked a bit strange and removed it. From the root it was brown then towards the tip was grey.. I have never dyed my hair...how does this work?
And secondly, If my hair is in need of a wash, my face becomes very oily. Once I wash my hair, the oilyness goes away (I've noticed this in other people too).
Melanin is a pigment found in the iris (eye), hair and skin. Melanin protects DNA from damages caused by the sun, hence the darkening of skin. However, hair tends to get lighter in the sun despite containing melanin....does the pigment have a different role here?
If so does this depend upon factors such as length and texture of hair, amount of straightening, and temperature of straighteners (average 210 - 220C)?
I'm 21 years old and yesterday I found my first grey hair. I heard that if you pluck out a grey hair 5 grow back in its place is this true? Is there anything I can do to stop more grey hairs growing?
