Why does my wife's nose run in the morning?

Every morning, regardless of season or health, my wife's nose starts to run the moment she wakes up and continues for about two hours. She also tends to sneeze a couple of times upon being presented with a cup of tea. Why does this happen?

Will I get sick if I eat flour that is past its sell-by date?

I've just opened a (paper) packet of flour that is 16 months past its sell-by date. It looks and smells OK and there are no visible signs of insect or fungus attack. What hidden dangers could lurk within it, or is it safe to eat?

Digesting Gum

People are always saying that if you swallow gum it can take up t so many years to pass through your digestive tract and I was wondering, is that because as gum it sticks to the sides of your digestive system? O is it because your digestive acids and enzymes have a tough job breaking it down?

would switching to a polyphasic style of sleep be healthy?

most doctors say you need a good 7-8 hours sleep a night (as an adult). but would someone miss out on the "rest and repair" which sleep brings by having a polyphasic sleep cycle?

How do Bonobos manage to have such casual sexual relationships and do not seem to suffer from Simian Immunodeficiency Virus?

I'm not aware of whether SIV affects Bonobos or not and if so to what extent. Are they not affected and if not why not? Or are they affected and if so are they not severely adversely affected or am I just not aware of a significant issue for their social health?
