Hot water from tap looks cloudy

When I run the hot tap at work very slowly it looks very cloudy, in fact its loads of tiny little bubbles. If I run the water faster they dissapear. I'm guessing some sort of cavitation is taking place.

Strangely this doesn't happen with the hot water at home.

Has anyone elso noticed this phenomonom?

cheers

Does adding room temperature water to a partially-filled hot water bottle reduce the total heat I get?

Sometimes I get into bed and realise that I've filled up my hot water bottle with water that is too hot. I then add a little water from a nearby jug which is at room temperature. This cools down the temperature immediately, but the hot water I filled it with is still in the hot water bottle. So does the total amount of heat I get over the whole night change?

Why is drinking hot water straight from the tap not recommended?

Given that lead-lined pipes, galvanised pipes and so forth are rarely used these days in the construction of homes, I was informed that is it still not recommended to drink hot water straight from the tap or even use it for cooking.

The reasoning behind this was that the large metal tanks / containers used to store and heat-up water in your home is prone to corrosion and the harbouring sediments, bacteria, heavy metals, etc over time. Another reasoning (more like a myth) is that certain chemicals have been added to the hot water system (district hot water distribution system) to help heat-up the water faster and retain heat longer.

Can someone who works in this industry or have expertise in this industry care to elaborate?

movement in a bathtub

when you are in a bathtub filled with hot water and you stay still for a while the water seems to be cooling but as soon as you move it slightly you would feel the heat coming back? is it because your body absorbs the heat from the water in that specific area? (if the body can do such thing, that is!) or is it something else?
