How do drugs work?

I know that drugs react react to chemical imbalances, such as antidepressants increasing low dopamine levels, but I recently had some problems with my jaw. My mouth would not open to its fullest extent and so made eating a bit of a pain. I went to have it checked out and was told that I had an inflammed ligament. I was prescribed Dicoflex (Diclofenac Sodium). It got me wondering, how can this oral pill have an effect on my jaw ligament only? Does it only react with the certain conditions present in an inflammed ligament or does it have effects on ligaments all over my body, inflammed or not? Also, does the same also go for drugs for other conditions, e.g. does aspirin or parcetamol only cure your headache or does it affect other body parts?

Getting lippy

As soon as the temperature falls below about 5 °C I have to avoid smiling because if I do, my lips crack and bleed.

Why does this happen and am I the only person to suffer in this way?

Does human head hair have a terminal length?

I was having a discussion with a friend and could not find an answer for human hair to have a terminal length. She was convinced that her hair only grew to a certain length, where as myself being male would not grow my hair to the length of hers. I understand the other hair accross my body stops at a certain length, but I was wondering why this was and whether there is a terminal length head hair grows too? Thank you.

Would an astronaut travelling at 90% of the speed of light quickly die of heart failure?

At that speed the astronaut's relativistic body mass (including the cardiovascular system) would be 2.3 times that on Earth.
