Do some perfumes resemble body odour?

This summer it was very hot in Europe and when I was on holiday, I even had to wash several times a day. I heard many times that it is bad for the skin to use deodorant on parts of the body exposed to the sun, but also bad to use washing agents like soap more than once a day. So at first I tried to wash with water only, not using soap. After the general, salty smell of perspiration had gone, there remained an odour that strongly reminded me of a "Dané" deodorant. Later I found that the shower gel "Dove silk glow" also smells somewhat similar.

I had none of these with me on my trip! Do they contain a component that is also a component of human body odour? If so, what for? If I use them won't people think I have washed with water only and am still dirty?

Is Nitrite conservatives in food something to worry about?

Nitrite, which is found in e-250 is according to my biology book a mutagen. Then I heard that they add it to meat as a conservative and to keep the meat red by preventing oxidation.

Is this something to worry about or is it relatively harmless?

8 glasses of water every day - a mith?

I heard million times "drink 2 l or 8 glasses of water every day" as some sort of mantra coming from all kinds of people, from doctors, from magazines, from teachers etc... Burt that makes no sense to me! I lived trough many days when i drank much less and i am still here! It makes no sense that it is so commonly advised for men, for women, for someone weighing 50 kg and 100 kg, for summer and for winter, for somone working in air conditioned office and for someone working in different enviroment etc etc. Is this a mith? Where is it coming from?

would switching to a polyphasic style of sleep be healthy?

most doctors say you need a good 7-8 hours sleep a night (as an adult). but would someone miss out on the "rest and repair" which sleep brings by having a polyphasic sleep cycle?

Reluctancy to leave bed

I've often noticed (and I'm probably not the only one to do so) that when I wake up in the mornings I am reluctant to leave the comfort and warmth of my bed. The instant I make any move to leave my bed (such as throwing off the covers) I have no trouble and can immediately go about my day but if I do not I will lay there for a while.

Is this in any way adaptive? It seems to me that staying in bed would be counter-productive. In ancient times this would surely mean missing out on the opportunity to spend more time hunting or foraging and therefore having a more secure future

Any thoughts as to why we do this?

Where does breast milk come from?

Having breastfed 2 babies I am interested in finding out where exactly breast milk comes from and how it is made. I can find plenty of information that tells me all about how the production of breast milk is initiated and maintained but none that actually explains where the water, fats, antibodies etc come from and how they are combined to produce milk.

Why does he sneeze?

I work in and underground mine here in Australia.  One of my co-workers sneezes whenever he drives out of the entrance to the mine.  Shortly after we travel from the darkness of the underground mine and into bright sunlight.  He's been here for 22 years and says that it happens every time.  Why?
