If we were bats what would be the maximum velocity possible?

Because we are sighted animals we have measured velocity in terms of distance traveled in a period of time as observed through the medium of light.

If we were incapable of sight and were bat like we would have observed the distance traveled in a period of time through the medium of sound. In such a world what would be the implication for E=MCC ?    ( or would that then be E=MSS [mass x velocity of sound squared])

If life at the bottom of the ocean exists in 100+ atmosphere pressure why doesn't it get crushed?

Sticky Problem

What makes a substance sticky?  Is it a macro property or a property of the molecules?

Do we know exactly where the Big Bang took place?

Directly after the Big Bang, all matter began expanding in all directions and is still doing so.  Therefore, if we "roll back" time and watch everything return to where it originated, that would be the point where the Big Bang took place.

Do scientists know where that is?  That would be the center of the universe, correct?

Can Convex side of the Moon Crescent tell us the direction?

The convex side of the moon cresent indicates the lighted aspect facing the Sun, which means it points to the direction where the Sun is.

Can we then presume that the Convex side points to the West in night and the East in Early Mornings before sunrise. (Provided the moon is in Crescent phase of course!!)

For our universe to hit a 2nd universe, what kind of geometry and dimensionality is minimally needed. What kind of space ?

In the November 24-30, 2007 Issue of New Scientist there was presentation in an a cover story entitled "Into The Void" of evidence that our universe collided with a 2nd Universe on page 35

Universe expansion - what lies beyond?

We all know the Universe began with the big bang circa 13 billion years ago - but is there a physical difference between empty space and beyond the current expansion threshold? Is spacetime (and our physics) being created as our Universe expands?

Will the reversal of magnetic poles, of Earth, result in Sun rising and setting from the opposite directions?

Being a student of physics, reversal of magnetic poles of Earth has been quite a topic of concerned for me. But I didn't know that it's now shifting so fast.

The thing which I wanna know is, would this, shifting of magnetic poles of Earth, result in sun rising and setting from the opposite directions, I mean, after that Sun will rise from West and will set in East. I'm not very sure but what I've studied so far from that I think YES it would. Can anyone explain this?

How fast are we really travelling?

if we were, say, in a car at 40mph:

the car is moving, the earth is spinning on its axis and is orbiting the sun, which is part of a solar system that is moving within a galaxy that is spinning in an expanding universe.

so how fast are we really moving?

and if it were possible for someone to be stationary and watching us with an extremely powerful telescope, would we be moving so fast we'd seem slow to them?
