Redshift and Doppler effect

Does light of different spectrum travel slightly at different speed?

For instance the ultraviolet and above end may travel a bit faster than at the red and belov end is slower.

For this reason, the longer the light has travelled the more streched out it would also be.

In this case, the slower end will slow down and stretch out more than the faster end making the full spectrum look more distorted over time/distance.

Is this my understanding correct?
