Vertical and horizontal speeds.

Passengers inside an aeroplane, that is going through a free fall can feel the effect and if the fall is fast enough, they could even be levitated inside the plane. The same effect goes with a free falling elevator.

But passengers inside a bullet train feels no significant changes even though the speed of a bullet train is faster than that of a free-falling elevator.

Is there any explanation for this?

The routes 'London' and 'not London' are not necessarily mutually exclusive

Can anyone explain what the National Routeing Guide means by “The routes 'London' and 'not London' are not necessarily mutually exclusive."

And does this extra insight into their world go any way to help us understanding what “use all of the doors when boarding” and “use all of the space in the carriages” mean?

Why is the reflex to bend over when out of breath?

When training in karate, I notice that at breaks when I am out of breath, the instinct is to bend over, resting hands on thighs.

I'm interested in why this developed, whether this has any advantage to getting your breath back, and, if not, what stance will help me get back to form quickly.
