Can the INVISIBLE MAN avoid blindness?

We have been fascinated by the heroics of the Invisible Man.Off and on we keep hearing about the breakthroughs in the field of developing some kind of magic substance that will confer upon us the power of becoming invisible. But as soon as we apply basic physics there is a problem. Retina needs to be opaque to let the image be formed on it before the optic nerve takes the neural signals to the visual cortex.... which simply means that a completely invisible man will be Blind!! Isn't IT SO??

What makes a substance sticky?  Is it a macro property or a property of the molecules?

See this Bug. What survival advantage could have been conferred by resemblance to a human face (when viewed either way) ?

These are the photographs of a strange bug I came across during my stay in Manipur state of North East India. The dorsal view of the insect resembles a human face.  This semblance to human face doesn't appear to be by chance. What evolutionary advantage could have favored such an adaptation.

Can Convex side of the Moon Crescent tell us the direction?

The convex side of the moon cresent indicates the lighted aspect facing the Sun, which means it points to the direction where the Sun is.

Can we then presume that the Convex side points to the West in night and the East in Early Mornings before sunrise. (Provided the moon is in Crescent phase of course!!)

Will the reversal of magnetic poles, of Earth, result in Sun rising and setting from the opposite directions?

Being a student of physics, reversal of magnetic poles of Earth has been quite a topic of concerned for me. But I didn't know that it's now shifting so fast.

The thing which I wanna know is, would this, shifting of magnetic poles of Earth, result in sun rising and setting from the opposite directions, I mean, after that Sun will rise from West and will set in East. I'm not very sure but what I've studied so far from that I think YES it would. Can anyone explain this?

What percent of carbon dioxide is consumed by a plant's daily respiration?

Of all the CO2 taken in during a day, only some of it can be used with the remainder being exhaled.  Is there any way to characterize that amount as a very rough guide to understanding the consumption of CO2 by plants?+

On the spike

I was walking from Cowes on the Isle of Wight to Yarmouth along the coastal path in June. When nearing Yarmouth we saw this strange spike standing upright on a leaf (see photo). The top of the spike has broken off to the right. What created it? If it's of any use, the weather was warm.David Winstanley, Norwich, UK
